In a relatively disappointing sea of fairly boring dresses, these stunners were a breath of fresh air and gave us some hope for the red carpets to come in the 2015 awards season.
In my book, Keira Knightley can do no wrong and perhaps only the gorgeous mom-to-be could pull off this Chanel stunner, but I loved her and her butterfly bump.
Dakota Johnson officially established her as one to watch on the red carpet, with this stunning metallic number. With her loose, unfussy hair and simple extras, the look was just sexy enough in a demure, Anastasia way that has me excited to see what else the Fifty Shades of Grey star brings to the red carpet.
All I can say is thank god for this beauty and her Giambattista Valli amazingness. Even if everyone else is going to play it safe in boresville, at least we can alway count on Lupita to stun on the red carpet in something truly worth talking about.
Jenna Dewam Tatum wasn’t the only one in yellow tonight, but while Naomi Watts seemed to be wearing the same dress both she and Renee Zellweger have worn in years past, Channing’s lucky wife brought us something fresh. The two-tiered look is going to be a big red carpet trend, as will the hot spring color, but I also loved the soft folds and floaty fabric of her Caroline Herrera gown as a fresh alternative to the tired silhouettes (classic column gown, sexy halter dresses, and classic princess poufs) that feel overplayed when you see them on EVERYONE.
Okay, there’s pretty much always someone on the red carpet wagging tails in this plunging halter style — and normally I’m not a huge fan — but Kate Hudson nails it. The white gown and jeweled cutouts somehow work, and yes, in part because she’s got a killer bod, but she’s tried this sexy style before and failed in my book. But here, it all comes together in a sexy meets elegant package.
Thank you, Lorde for sticking to your signature style and yet freshening it up in a totally you way. The crop top and sparkly stunner on her neck, oh, and that sleek ponytail = pure perfection.
Emma Stone is another one who can do no wrong in my book, but the elegant nonchalance of her black sparkly Lanvin jumpsuit with that oversized bow was just so spot-on, especially with her cool bob that I’m so copying.
Sienna Miller also won my vote for taking a satin beaded gown that could have felt totally dated and giving it a sexy edge with that stunning neckline and killer cool-girl chop (more hair inspo for me) and cool, right-now jewels.
