I don’t know about you, but my husband is impossible to shop for. He never likes anything I get him, and the things he does like always surprise me. He’s just so particular. Sometimes he’ll have a specific birthday gift in mind and it makes my life easy. In fact, in the past, I’ve been able to get him fly fishing gear or a paddle racquet that he’s wanted for his birthday and it’s basically been like click and buy, no stress or shopping required. However, he seems to have swung back to the “I don’t know” or “don’t get me anything” but I don’t really mean that mode, so I am, once again, at a loss as to what to get my husband for his birthday gift this year. Lucky for you, if you’re facing a similar dilemma, I’ve spent countless hours shopping for birthday gift ideas for husbands.
I’ve come up with a list of fail proof birthday gift ideas for husbands that, if Andrew will like, I’m pretty sure you’ll find a winner for even the toughest to shop for. I have found the key to scoring a great gift for a husband is to go practical — a nice version of something they’ll use or need like luxe luggage, monogrammed grill tools, a really nice wallet or custom ski boots. The other route is to get them a cool gadget because what man doesn’t like cool tech? Some of my favorites are a killer speaker, souped up or headphones, a drone, or the latest apple watch or ear pods. Sometimes I do go the boring route with clothes and accessories. But in those cases, you got to make it really nice and somewhat fun, like a fun, designer swimsuit or tie, a monogrammed belt or cufflinks, sweet sneakers… you get the drill. I am a big fan of gifting experiences as well and I am leaning into that more and more as we get older — a night away, a golf excursion with his buddies, etc. We went to Kiawah one year to play the Ocean Course for Andrew’s birthday and he loved it. But I still like to give him something to open, so I also rounded up some of my favorite birthday gift ideas for husbands below.
