After a lull, we’ve had quite a few weddings recently. Mostly the stragglers of our friends. Dressing for summer weddings is fun but if can be tough. There’s the heat and humidity that’s often followed by a drop in temp when the sun goes down. If the weddings more casual, there are usually a million sundresses to a choose from. But when it’s a more formal affair, it can get tricky. Sure a long black dress will totally work, but I don’t know, for summer, it feels so blah.
I’m not a huge fan of long dresses that are a single solid color other than black though. They feel so prom to me. Which is why I love this off the shoulder dress for a formal summer wedding. The print is summery and fun but the long silhouette and off the shoulder style and tiers dress it up. Plus, there’s something about a printed evening gown that I love, especially for summer and destination weddings – it feels more fun, festive and youthful.
This one also comes with a really reasonable price tag for a formal gown and the fabric is airy enough that you won’t sweat to death if the ceremony or reception is in the sun.
