Slip dresses continue to trend for spring, along with the slew of other ’90s trends. While as a child of the ’90s, it feels weird to embrace some of these trends again, I have to say, there’s nothing sexier to me than a simple slip dress. My style is pretty minimal, and I love how it shows just enough without showing anything major and well, we all remember the Carrie Bradshaw nakey dress from her first date with Big on SATC (did I just totally date myself?). There really is nothing sexier. Sadly, I don’t have that many occasions to wear a slip dress, especially now that I’m older and a mom living in the suburbs (lol) (not that I would have ever worn one like Carrie’s on a date — I’m more of a jeans and cute top girl). I’ve been thinking about investing in one for summer parties and weddings, and I’m feeling more into it now that I’m seeing the easy styling trick bloggers and celebs are using to take the sexy evening wear into daytime attire. It’s a simple as slipping a tee underneath and adding some flats or sneakers, and you’re ready for a daytime bbq or date, or even the office, especially if you toss a blazer on over. Yeah, one of my favorite easy outfit formulas is stolen straight from the ’90s: T-shirts and slip dresses.
T-shirts and slip dresses are such a great trend because it’s such an easy way to stretch your wardrobe. It makes a sexier nighttime dress daytime-appropriate and even feel casual when done with the right accessories. Here are my favorite ideas and inspiration for the easiest outfit formula to try right now: t-shirts and slip dresses.
