There’s really nothing crisper, chicer, or more modern than a white pantsuit. It’s just the embodiment of chic with a capital C. For people like me, who can’t help but spill or sit on smutch when wearing white, it’s also incredibly impractical. But if I was a boss lady at a more conservative office, like say, Amal Clooney, a white suit would definitely be on my spring shopping list. White suits have been all over the streets of fashion month, and what I love about the latest variation of the ultra-sophisticate look is that it’s getting more of a relaxed vibe, with double breasted jackets that aren’t oversized per se but aren’t too fitted and wide-leg pants that fit in the same category. Don’t get me wrong, the fit is still spot-on, but it’s less form-fitting and perfect in a don’t touch her way and more cool and dare I say, effortless? Case in point: It’s not just popping up on Amal types, but on street stylers less known for their polished perfection like The Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine. And for a moment, I’m contemplating if I could get away with it without spilling or schmutzing.
