A dress is very easy to throw on in the summer, whereas with skirts, there’s always the what to wear on top factor. That’s why I always tell myself I should just buy dresses and make getting dressed for work so much easier. But I just can’t resist the allure of a trendy, new skirt, especially when I see it styled flawlessly on the street and fancy myself able to look the same. Except then when I go to figure out what to wear on top, I totally choke and end up frustrated and throw on a dress. But what I realized after studying the skirt-wearing street stylers that inspire me to buy said damn skirts in the first place is that they often wear the same simple top every time. A white tee. It’s simple. It’s chic. It goes with every color and pattern and style. And it’s easy to make look totally fresh with a statement necklace, a layering of pendants, or a scarf.
