Have you ever seen a pair of shoes and just had to have them? That’s how I’ve felt about these riding/shooting boots for a long time. You might be confused that THESE are the shoes I’m lusting after. They’re not some fancy heels or fabulous flats or off the chain booties. But times change. I’m a mom now. I live in the city. Ain’t no one got time for five-inch heels and feather-trim satin heels that stain the second they see a NYC puddle. I mean don’t get me wrong, I have plenty of those in my closet, but at this point in my life, I’m really looking for some durable chic footwear that I can wear on end for years. It’s been awhile since I bought a pair of boots I really love that are more investment pieces than on-trend to update my work wardrobe, and I think this is the year I invest in a pair of more riding-style boots. These Dubarry boots are actually the ones Kate Middleton wears I think (or similar) and I can see why she’s had them for ten thousand years. They’re chic, look good with jeans and dresses and just really are amazing. I can see myself wearing them for weekends in the city, in the country, or even to work with the right outfit. I also feel like they fit with my current style mood (which admittedly changes daily) but is blowing in the more classic, regal direction. In any event, I can’t stop thinking about these and think it’s time to pull the trigger, but with all the holiday gift-giving I’ve been doing, I’m having trouble pulling the trigger. What do you think? Worth the splurge? Do I NEED them? Yes, right?
