The holidays are already coming in hot, and I’m starting to do my shopping. But when it comes to holiday shopping I have one gripe that I feel the need to share because I cannot be alone: Why is shopping for men so hard? Whether I’m shopping for my brother, husband, dad, father-in-law or brother-in-law, I always struggle to find cool holiday gifts for guys. It’s funny because there is always so much the men in my life need, from the mundane like underwear and socks without holes (or just my husband?) to the cool like new ski boots or the latest golf shoes and the practical like luggage and sweaters. And yet, when it comes time to get them gifts, I can’t come up with a single thing. Anyone else? Maybe it’s because the men in my life have no qualms about showing their disappointment at a gift that they’re not into, not to mention they’re incredibly fickle in terms of what they like and don’t like, which both encourages me to strive harder to find the perfect gift. Then there are times when I give up in pursuit of cool holiday gifts for guys and give them something outrageous just to spite them and they end up loving it. Go figure.
But after years of struggling, I’ve found some foolproof, cool holiday gifts for guys that even if they don’t earn a huge “I love it”, don’t get made fun of the second they’re opened and I have seen get used over and over again. I find with men that’s the ultimate compliment, right?
