You know how I’m always talking about how I hate maternity clothes, and for both my pregnancies, I did my best to avoid anything maternity (other than from here)? Well, one of good friends from college is changing all that, with a brand new maternity line — Frances Hart —and it’s so chic, it makes me want to be pregnant all over again (which is saying a lot considering I literally just gave birth).
I’m not surprised considering the founder is one of the chicest women I know. She’s one of those people who always looks stylish in that effortless, I have innately good style kinds of ways. So when she told me she was launching a new maternity line called Frances Hart, I was so excited to get a sneak peek. And let me tell you, it does not disappoint.
This is one of the only maternity lines that looks elegant and sophisticated. Most importantly, the pieces are comfortable but structured so you look put-together.
What I love about the pieces is that they are perfect for the office. It’s really hard to find pregnancy clothes that will make you feel like you can present at a board meeting, followed by lunch with fashion publicists, stop by a celeb cover photo shoot, and attend a screening, but that’s exactly what I did in this skirt set, and even at 9.5 months pregs, I felt stylish but comfy enough to make it through a crazy long day.
I have a lot more flexibility in my office when it comes to the dress code, but when I wanted to look like a boss lady during my pregnancy, the choices were limited to basically a black dress, especially as my bump grew. I love that Frances Hart’s structured knits are polished enough for the office but not at all restricting. The prints are subtle and sophisticated, the opposite of the floral and polka dot patterns that dominate all maternity clothes (why are those the only designs they’ve figured out for maternity clothes?).
There are so many more chic styles on their website. I’m actually jealous of anyone who is pregnant now and can wear these pieces for their entire pregnancy.
