After the Christmas holidays, Valentine’s Day is one of the few excuses to get festive during winter’s darkest days. Whether you’re heading to a party, finishing multiple bottles of vino with your girls (or your cat), or going on a romantic date (which I’ll be doing for the first time in a looonnngg time), here are some Valentine Day’s outfit ideas.Â

What To Wear To Dinner With Couple Friends
April 17, 2019Let’s face it — going to dinner with couple friends is not just an excuse to catch up, but also an excuse to show other cute couples how cute (and stylish) you are. I mean I don’t know about you, but I’ve got two usual ways of dressing — for the office or for weekends at home. So the only time I get to wear something that’s at all sexy or fun is when we go out, and these days, our idea of a wild night out is a late dinner with friends (god, when did we get so old). But for some reason, picking out an outfit, even if we’re just going to dinner with good friends who couldn’t care less what I look like, stresses me out. It’s probably because I don’t have a lot of “going out” clothes now that hitting the bars and clubs isn’t in my regular weekend lineup. Here are my favorite outfit ideas for going to dinner with couple friends.

It’s been a gross week of cold, wet weather. The good news? It’s also been a short week! Honestly, after being super indulgent and lazy over the long weekend, I didn’t feel like getting dressed this week. The slushy, gross weather didn’t help. Luckily, it was more of a grind it out on big projects kind of week at work, so I didn’t have to get dressed up for any events or presentations so I went with a more casual vibe.

I like to layer a cute sweater under all my ski gear. That way, I still look cute for apres while staying warm on the slopes. This year, I treated myself to a ski sweater I’ve been eyeing for years, because honestly, my ski layers were starting to wear down and I knew I’d wear this one just as much off the slopes as on. It looks so cute with jeans and boots, and I even dressed it up one night on our trip with black pants and a fur vest.

How does one dress for 10+ inches of snow? Well, the good news is that lots of snow usually leads to closed roads and schools and businesses, which means you can stay in your pajamas all day. But if you have to go out, it’s all about the snow boots and lots of warm, snow-friendly layers. Here’s what to wear when you have to go out in a snowstorm.

Getting dressed for work every morning can be hard enough. But I find it especially challenging when it’s too cold to breathe and you have to deal with a dangerously cold commute and an office fluctuating between under and over heated but never quite right (or is that just my office?). You want/have to still look profesh and polished but you also have to deal with things like shoes that can navigate snow and ice (or wearing the dreaded commuter shoes and hoping no looks down at your feet on your way in), tights and socks, bulky sweaters and scarves, layers, etc. etc. I’ve found that getting out of bed when it’s cold and dark is hard enough without having to worry about looking cute, so I’ve decided to pick out some go-to outfit combos to get me through the rest of winter with more snooze time and less outfit picking-out time.
