I LOVE holidays, have I mentioned that? Legit, I’m obsessed. I blame my mom. She always went to town for the holidays, whether it was cooking up an elaborate Thanksgiving feast with more food than a small country could consume and a fun tablescape with festive gords, candles, and special Thanksgiving china or transforming our entire house into a winter wonderland for Christmas, complete with a ten-foot tree. Anyway, you could say it runs in the family. While we typically spend Thanksgiving with one of our family’s, this year with Covid, things will likely be different, so I’m starting to gather Thanksgiving tablescape inspiration in case we end up doing it at home.
A cook I am not, so when entertaining, I prefer to focus on the tablescape and decor, and then cater the actual food. Why stress over whether the turkey and stuffing are edible when I can be thinking about fall flower arrangements and the perfect linen and china combo that will create an elegant Thanksgiving tablescape? Plus, ever since I worked for a wedding magazine several years ago, I just really love looking at and trying to create beautiful tablescapes. If you’re unexpectedly planning to host Thanksgiving this year, get inspired by these gorgeous tablescapes and please send me pics of yours.
