The only upside to summer ending? It’s a short week and a long weekend. I’m heading on vacation Friday for the entire week, and I cannot wait. The hubby’s best friend’s family invited us on his family’s boat for a week of sailing around the east coast, from Boston to Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard all the way up to Rhode Island, Maine and then the North Fork, Shelter Island, Montauk, and ending back home in New York City. It’ll be a mix of sunning and lounging on the boat and hitting up the beaches and best of the East Coast’s top beach towns, all of which call for slightly different attire. So basically I have to pack for ten different locations, covering all the different vaca destination types and summer spot vibes out east. It’s a marked change from the previous year when we spent the long weekend upstate at the lake surrounded by the woods instead of sand and beach. Or two years ago when we were out west doing wedding planning in Park City and side-tripping for some western exploring in the great wild west before heading to Cali for a vineyard wedding/wine-tasting and Palm Springs poolside lounging. No matter where you’re headed this year (or not heading because what’s wrong with a staycation), don’t waste a minute of the final days of summer stressing over what to wear. Just follow these perfect end-of-summer outfit ideas.
