I can’t believe we’re in the final countdown and this pregnancy will soon be over. I’m one of those insane people who actually likes being pregnant, so this is bittersweet in some ways. It took so long to get here, and as I’ve mentioned before, I want a huge family so I hope to have more kids, but I don’t know if I’ll be lucky enough to get pregnant again. Yes, my feet are swollen, I’m exhausted, it’s hard to be nine months pregnant in ten million degree heat in NYC, and I legit can’t fit into anything anymore. But I still love it so much. And I’ve found it easier to dress the bump this time around, as I’ve gotten a lot smarter about investing in the right maternity clothes.
I’ve tried to have as much fun with dressing my bump as possible, and really gotten good at figuring out what I need and don’t need to get through pregnancy. If we are lucky enough to do this again, I’ll have the perfect maternity capsule collection nailed down. But figuring out what you need and is worth investing in as your body is constantly changing isn’t easy. And just when you think you’ve got it, you grow over night and nothing fits again.
I’ve gotten so many questions from so many of you about the best maternity clothes and dressing the bump, so thought I’d share my most worn maternity clothes from this pregnancy.
Hatch Jumpsuit
This is hands down the comfiest thing I’ve ever worn and it’s so versatile. I can dress it up or down. I fully plan on living in this post-pregnancy too. I always get told how cute I look in it, but I feel like I’m wearing pajamas.
Madewell Maternity Jeans
These are incredibly flattering, well-priced, and, with the classic wash, they’re super versatile. I am a fan of the over the belly waist as well.
Citizens of Humanity Ankle Jeans
I have also been living in these jeans. They’re super comfy and have a nice cropped cut that works great with everything from flats to heels. They were a little more pricey but definitely worth it. I’ve worn them on the reg during both pregnancies.
ASOS White Eyelet Dress
I’ve been wearing this dress throughout my pregnancy. I’ve dressed it up for cocktail parties and thrown it over my bathing suit for the pool. And the price really can’t be beat.
Old Navy and Gap Swimsuits
I’ve alternated between this Old Navy one-piece and this classic black swimsuit for the entire summer. I discovered last pregnancy that I’m just not a bikini at the pool pregnant woman, and these suits are really comfortable and great for running after kids, flattering, and most important, I feel good in them so I don’t mind being a whale at the pool all summer.
ASOS Maternity Tees
I have lived in these. They’re super affordable, and the perfect length and fit. I love that they’re a roomier fit without being too roomy, and they’re longer so they’ve worked as my bump has grown.
ASOS Gingham Shirt Dress
This has been one of my go-to work dresses. I was worried it would feel too cutesy or preppy, but it’s actually really cute and it’s pretty comfy to boot.
Floral Maxi Dresses
I love these non-maternity floral dresses – like this one and this one. They’re romantic and make me feel super pretty, and I can wear them after the baby comes, making them worth the investment. Plus, I’ve had them on repeat all summer, so in terms of cost per wear, they’ve been well worth it.
