Well, we’re officially back into the swing of things. It took me nearly a week to recover from our vacation (or since the kids were with us, should I really call it a relocation?). Life is back to usual and we’re back to our summer routine — camp drop off, quick workout or tennis game if I can squeeze it in, back to back Zoom meetings and emails upon emails, break to pick up James from camp and eat a little lunch with the kids if I can, back to work, and then cooking dinner and getting the kids ready for bed before wrapping up work and trying to stay awake to watch a show with the hubs (never happens). But with the Delta variant spreading, bringing the possibility of more shutdowns on the horizon, I’m trying to take advantage of every (safe) opportunity to see friends and spend time outdoors before fall comes and who knows what it’ll bring with it. I’m also taking advantage of sundress and sandals season, because there’s no season that’s easier to get dressed for. Seriously, if you check out my roundup of what I wore the third week of August 2021, I looked pretty put together all week and just threw on a breezy top or dress ever day.
Come fall, you have to worry about shoes and layers and coats. It’s just so much more to add to the equation. And these days, I’m all about simplicity. There’s just too much going on and too many things to keep track of to worry about trying on a million outfits in the mornings or when I get the chance to slip out with Andrew after the kids go to bed for a date night or party, which we were fortunate enough to do twice this week. (I know, we’re really living on the edge.) Now I have to run to get the kids to swimming, so here’s what I wore the third week of August 2021.
