Now that the world is opening up and we can gather in groups again, it feels like we’re being flooded with invitations for weddings and engagement parties. It makes sense. So many people had to postpone their nuptials due to Covid, and they don’t want to wait any longer to tie the knot and celebrate. Weddings and engagement parties are happening again this summer, and I am sure we’re not the only ones with an engagement party this summer. It feels like every vacation destination and event venue is booked solid with engagement parties this summer. I know this because I’ve been trying to plan a birthday party/weekend for Andrew, and the competition is stiff. We’re actually heading to the Hamptons, Quogue to be exact, in a couple weeks for an engagement party at a beach club. While the vibe will be more casual simply by nature of the sandy outdoor setting, given the occasion and the fact that it’s the ~Hamptons~, a slightly stepped-up beach look is called for.Engagement parties are always tricky to dress for — not as fancy as a wedding but you still want to look nice. You’re often seeing a bunch of people you haven’t in awhile, so you also want to wear something special and look good. I think I found the perfect dress if you’re debating what to wear to a Hamptons engagement party though.
This dress is lightweight and breezy but feels fancy enough for the occasion. It feels festive for the beachside setting thanks to the fun print, and I love how the ruffles add a feminine touch. It’s long so feels a little more fancy, but it has slits that let you show a little leg and keep it feeling breezy. So if you’re in a dressing conundrum, I wanted to share what to wear to a Hamptons engagement party.
