Thanksgiving is over and now we’re in that crazy four weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas when you’ve never had more parties and events and shows to attend. It’s my favorite time of the year but also one of the most stressful. With a million things on the calendar and so much to wrap up before the end of the year, plus, holiday shopping to do, I like to get ahead of the game by picking out outfits for all the holiday festivities way in advance. The holidays are the perfect time to break out the glitz and the glam without ever feeling too extra. It’s perfectly acceptable to wear sequins during the daytime during the happiest time of the year and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. This year, it feels like there are endless excuses to break out your dressiest holiday attire. I feel like everyone is throwing a holiday party and we actually have more than one black tie Christmas party to attend this year. I am excited but also a bit overwhelmed at finding multiple dressy holiday outfits. After two years of outdoor festivities and two years of hibernating, you’re not alone if you’re wondering what to wear to a fancy Christmas party. Luckily, there are so many good options this year.
When deciding what to wear to a fancy Christmas party, I say keep it elegant with just enough holiday flair. You can go for a gorgeous dress in a classic red or green, sparkly metallics paired with simple, ladylike silhouettes and understated extras, or even make black feel festive with a touch of glitz. If you’ve got some dressier invites on your lineup, here are some ideas for what to wear to a fancy Christmas party. And of course, I have plenty of other guides to get you through the holidays in style: what to wear to Christmas dinner, what to wear to a work holiday party, What to Wear to School Holiday Events and what to wear on New Year’s Eve.
