Father’s Day Gift Ideas

by krismkoch

I can’t believe it’s almost Father’s Day — it feels like it was just Mother’s Day! I was talking to a co-worker recently who said she’s making huge deals out of holidays even if they’re just celebrating in their backyard with their immediate family as a way to have something to look forward to. It’s something she started doing during quarantine, but it’s been so much fun for her family that she’s continuing it even as life starts to return to some sense of normalcy. I love that, and I am definitely following suit. I’m still trying to plan what exactly what we’ll do for Father’s Day this year. I’m thinking it’ll either involve a backyard bbq or an outdoor dinner and maybe breakfast in bed for good measure. Because it’s been a long year, I want to get Andrew something special for Father’s Day this year. So I’ve been spending a lot of time looking for creative and special Father’s Day gift ideas.

Men are notoriously hard to shop for, which means it takes extra effort to come up with good Father’s Day gift ideas. The men in my life are notoriously hard to please in the gift department, so I always try to think of something they wouldn’t necessarily buy for themselves but that they need or would want — really nice cufflinks or sunglasses or a drone. I have also been known to buy the basics for Andrew because well, he never buys himself clothes and needs a refresh of jeans, polos, and button-ups every year. And if you don’t tell me what you want, sometimes you get boring. But even when I do the boring-but-needed gifts, I still like to think of at least one or two small fun Father’s Day gift ideas to include, because well, being a parent is hard and deserves an award.

Because men are the hardest to shop for, I wanted to share what I found. So if you’re still trying to figure out what to get your husband, dad, father-in-law, or any of the other dads in your life, here are my favorite Father’s Day gift ideas this year.
