Well, happy belated Valentine’s Day to all who celebrate lol. I hope you all had a great weekend. I love this week. It always feels like a bright spot in the midst of a long winter. January is so long and bleak, and then February continues to be cold and dark, so having a fun holiday to look forward to and celebrate always cheers me up. It also feels like the moment we start to turn the corner towards spring — the sun starts shining on occasion, sun sets a bit later, and we get a few warmer days in between all the cold. But we can still ski and enjoy outdoor ice skating. Anyway, I like this week and we had a good one filled with kids’ Valentines party, work events and meetings, and some days of working from home, as you can see from my roundup of what I wore the second week of February 2024.
I have gotten to the point in winter when I’m sort of over getting dressed when it’s cold. I just want to throw on a big sweater and leggings or joggers and call it a day. But this week, I had lots of activities to take the kids to, meetings. work lunches, and even a few dinners, so staying in pjs or sweats all day wasn’t really an option. On those days when I just want to be cozy but have to get dressed I’ll opt for sweaters and jeans and boots or comfy flats. Now, it’s time to kick off the long weekend and winter break for my kiddos who don’t have school next week (because why have school? Just kidding, I’m actually excited for winter break!). We’re going to stay here for the first half of the weekend for James’ hockey games and then head up to the lake and for a week of skiing. I wish we were heading to the sun and beach, but I love taking advantage of winter break to get in more skiing, so that’s what we’re doing. Hopefully, we can get to the beach soon though. Time for the weekend and winter break. But fist, here’s what I wore the second week of February 2024.
