My kids, well, at least one of my kids — Charlotte is slowly transitioning her into her 3-day a week program, is finally in school full time and I couldn’t be happier. We were all craving structure and a schedule. Despite the huge transition (longer day for James, Charlotte starting school for first time, me adjusting to working without constant interruption while trying to keep track of drop off/pick up and activities), it’s amazing how much more settled and happy everyone seems. Don’t get me wrong, there’s been tantrums and tears, but I think James especially was missing seeing friends every day and having a routine. I know it’s helped me as well as I work from home to have more structure (and the kids out of the house and not popping into my Zoom calls and interrupting my work). Since I’ve been doing the drop off/pick up every day and meeting teachers and having a million meetings for work, I got dressed most of this week, and quite enjoyed it, so I have some cute looks to show you for what I wore the third week of September 2021.
While I love staying in my sweats just as much as the next person or wearing my workout clothes all day in hopes of actually squeezing in some exercise, I’m not going to lie, it was nice to feel put-together and on top of things. It also felt fun to play with fashion a bit more than I have since not going into the city every day. I’ve been balancing suburban mom and fashion-obsessed magazine editor with crazed pandemic woman, but I decided to just dress as if life was fully back to normal this week and it was fun. Now, I can’t wait to relax a bit this weekend in my soccer mom uniform (although relax isn’t really what happens on weekends when you have young kids and a million activities and things going on). Here’s what I wore the third week of September 2021.
