We are heading to Martha’s Vineyard at the end of August for an end-of -summer family vacation and it cannot come soon enough. We need a break and some time away, and we’ll be going with good friends who were excited to see and spend time with. Last time I was in the Vineyard was for a boat trip with friends. We stayed on the boat, so I didn’t get as good of a feel for the area, so I am excited to spend a good amount of time there, exploring and enjoying the beaches and towns. When I get excited for a trip, I start plotting out my outfits, because that’s just the extra fashion girl in me. So I thought I’d compile a guide for what to pack for Martha’s Vineyard.
I’m looking forward to embracing the all-American vibe of the Vineyard and keeping it easy, breezy. We’ll have the kids with us after all, and you know how they love to wipe their hands/buggars/god knows what else on me. We’ll be spending lots of time swimming in the pool and at the beach, so bathing suits and cover-ups will mostly be my daywear. I’ll include some easy beach dresses that I can throw on over my swimsuit to run into town or break for lunch. For the evenings, I think we’ll do a mix of cooking at home and eating out, so I’m going to stick with easy sundresses and sandals. Since it may get chilly at night (and I hate bugs), I’m going to throw in some cute sweaters and cardis for good measure. And in hopes I get some exercise, I’ll toss in a couple workout sets and sneakers. Obviously, I won’t forget my hat and some cute totes and beach accessories.
If you’re heading to the Vineyard this summer too, here’s my guide for what to Pack for Martha’s Vineyard. And check out my beach vacation packing list for more packing lists and ideas.
