Blazers are a critical component of any working woman’s wardrobe, but I’ve found myself especially reliant on them since becoming a mom. A blazer quickly dresses up any outfit — a dress, jeans, black pants, a skirt, jeans, shorts, you name it. Since I don’t have much time to think about getting dressed in the morning now that I have a little one to get dressed, fed and entertained all before heading to the office, I’m relying more and more on pieces that I can easily throw on and look put-together and that go with everything in my closet. Basically I am always on the hunt for anything that allows me to get dressed in five minutes or less and look profesh and chic. My black blazer and classic navy blazer are on repeat in my wardrobe, but sometimes I want a jacket that makes more of a statement but still feels neutral enough to go with tons of items in my closet and that will work for everything from the office to a preschool tour or dinner date with friends. That’s why I’m loving this plaid blazer for fall.
A plaid blazer is a classic wardrobe staple that can be treated like a neutral but adds some interest to a neutral outfit. The pattern will never go out of style but it adds a little more style to a basic outfit than a solid neutral jacket and is the perfect boss lady topper to throw on over a dress but also looks just as good with jeans. This one is a steal at under $150 and I love the oversized fit, which feels on-trend and makes layering easy. I also rounded up some more of my favorite blazers that are perfect for work, weekend, you name it.
