Yes, he’s finally here! I feel so blessed and happy to share that Brooks George Kennedy joined us just a few days before his due date at 4:14 a.m. on March 24, weighing 7lbs 11oz. It all happened so fast, and tbqh, I didn’t see it coming when it did, so I’m still in shock I think — and definitely still trying to remember how to care for a newborn, deal with all the postpartum stuff, and adjust to being a mom of three. And somehow I’m finding myself writing this baby announcement post mere days after his arrival, which I am going to pat myself on the back for because man, it has been a chaotic, crazy whirlwind.
Honestly, I thought I had a few more days before Brooks’ arrival. With my other two, I had been experiencing cramps and contractions the entire day or so before I went into active labor. But this time, aside from a couple intense one-off cramps, I didn’t really have any indication that I’d be delivering that night. In fact, I tucked myself into bed and snuggled up to watch my favorite new reality show, Byron Baes (it’s on Netflix and I highly recommend if you want some good old trash TV), when I my water broke. Sorry if this is TMI but I guess this is kind of turning into a birth story. I’m not going to go into the full thing, but this is the first time my water broke on its own, and I’m glad it did, because otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have headed to the hospital when we did and it was pretty quick after that. We left for the hospital a little after 11pm, and I gave birth a little after 4am.

It was a long night needless to say and exhausting, but we were so blessed with our rainbow baby, Brooks George, that it didn’t even matter. Though I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I’m still recovering from basically pulling an all-nighter and then being up every few hours with a newborn ever since. We’re so happy that he’s healthy and here, and I wanted to share this baby announcement post sooner rather than later because, well, isn’t he just the cutest? I promise to write more about how we’re adjusting to being a family of five and how James and Charlotte are handling things, but Brooks is ready to feed again, so duty calls!
I will leave you with some cute pics because let’s face it, that’s what this baby announcement post is really for. I know I’m biased, but I think he’s pretty handsome. He definitely looks like Charlotte, but we were looking at old pics of James, and he looks like James did as a newborn as well, so we’ll see as he grows, but he’s just delicious with great cheeks and pouty lips and the cutest everything else. Promise to write soon when I have had more sleep, but in the meantime, I’ve planned out lot’s of great content so you’ll continue to find fresh content on here (as a reminder, I publish new content every Monday, Wednesday and Friday) as I figure out this whole mom of three on no sleep thing.
I’m hoping that on my maternity leave, I’ll be able to create lots of great content for you, both on the blog and my Instagram (maybe up my Reels skillz) and maybe I’ll even get crazy and get really into TikTok. Who knows? So please continue to follow along and promise lots of cute pics and updates soon.
