I have been getting lots of requests for baby boy coming home outfits. I admit, I still haven’t thought that far ahead, which I realize is frightening, so I’m glad you guys asked because it forced me to do some shopping for baby #3. I know you’re thinking that we already have everything from James, but alas, that’s not exactly true. James was born in a different season, which I don’t think will matter as much with his toddler plus clothes, but makes a big difference in the first few months. James was a late September baby so we got lots of Halloween and holiday onesies that won’t exactly make sense in the spring though I’m sure we’ll use some of them anyway. Some of what James wore like the knit and fleece onesies will be too heavy since the weather will be warmer for this little guy. James was lucky to get lots of hand-me-downs from cousins, which were great and so nice considering how fast they grow, but many were pretty down by the time we finished with them after going through several cousins. I also gave a lot away to friends who had babies as we struggled to conceive. I love passing on clothes and gear to other moms, because you just don’t use it that long and it’s so nice to know another family we love is getting use out of something James or Charlotte loved. Needless to say, this baby actually needs some clothes in the newborn and 0-3 months department, so I’m more than happy to shop for baby boy coming home outfits.
I actually didn’t have a good coming home from the hospital outfit for James because as I mentioned I didn’t have a good hospital bag packed. Check out what I recommend packing in your hospital bag. We also didn’t know the gender and everyone told me to get 3-6 month clothes because they’ll grow out of the 0-3 months in a minute if they ever even fit in them. Well, that wasn’t great advice because my babies have both come early and not been huge, and James needed newborn clothes. So he was taken home from the hospital in an oversized 3-6 month onesie that looked ridiculous. Hence, why I’m starting to shop for baby boy coming home outfits, and excited to share my picks with you. I recommend bringing a couple options because it’s likely a blowout or spit-up situation will happen right before you’re about to leave. I also recommend having a few sizes — newborn, 0-3 months and 3-6 months if you think the baby is measuring large — because it’s hard to predict baby’s exact size. But you can also see how your doctor says the baby is measuring as you get closer since you’ll want to wash the clothes and remove the tags in advance.
Here are my favorite baby boy coming home outfits and likely what you’ll see Baby Kennedy #3 coming home in when he joins us earthside.
