I have been getting lots of requests recently on Instagram for the best bags for moms on the go. Basically, many of you are looking for chic tote bags that can fit your life, your kids stuff, diapers, snacks, socks, you name it and that you won’t cry when a pouch explodes all over it. But you’re not necessarily looking for a diaper bag. And this bag might even double as a work bag, carrying laptops and notebooks and even equipment like tripods (just me?) etc. I totally get what you’re asking for and why it’s hard to find. So many of the cute bags out right now that are trending and giving us all googley eyes are great but not practical for kids. They’re either not big enough or they’re suede or so expensive that you will certainly cry if they inevitably get destroyed by kiddos stuff. Luckily, I have had the same dilemma and I have done lots of research to find the best bags for moms on the go.
I like a bag that’s roomy and easy to carry (straps are long enough to throw over my shoulder but I can also grab and carry without much effort). It has to be easily wipeable and durable enough to go everywhere and get spilled on. It also has to be able to carry a lot of weight because god knows what my kids and I throw in there on a daily basis – laptops, ballet shoes, water bottles, snacks, wipes, diapers, toys, books, the list goes on. It also has to be a somewhat reasonable price tag so that when it gets destroyed, you won’t cry. Listen, I would die for the Row bag some of my favorite influencers and editors have been carrying around but I know something will happen to it and I would be devastated and no one needs that. With that said, sometimes I’ll buy a designer bag second hand from places like The Real Real and Fashionphile and use it as my mom bag and wear it to death. It’s not brand new, so I don’t feel as bad when it gets dirty or milk or juice or god knows what spilled on it.
