I am all about comfort these days. Ever since Covid, I have never really been able to get back into heels. When I do wear a heel, it’s usually a low one or a platform. But honestly, you’ll find me in flats or sneakers nine times out of ten, and I’m not mad about it. Even before Covid, I was a huge fan of investing in cool sneakers. Whether I was commuting from our apartment in the city or Brooklyn or later from the burbs, I almost always wore sneakers to the office before changing into heels. Many times I’d stay in the sneakers both for comfort and style. I love how a dress looks paired with a cool pair of sneakers and I was into the dad shoe trend with jeans. A mini skirt and sneakers? Always a cute pair. Since becoming a mom, sneakers have become a huge part of my daily uniform and especially my weekend attire. I am always running after the kids at the park and playground, birthday parties, sporting events, backyard, etc. so they really make the most sense. And during the week, if I’m wfh, I’m running between drop off and meetings and Zooms and emails and then errands and activities and pick up, and maybe even trying to squeeze in a workout at some point, so sneakers just make the most sense. I have gotten lots of requests on Insta for cute sneakers, so I thought I’d do a round up of cool mom sneakers 2023.
I do love a great pair of flats or boots, but as a mom, sneakers are so integral to my wardrobe so I love investing in a cool new pair each year. Sometimes, like this year, I find myself investing in more than one, especially since so many cool sneakers have come on the market for fall. I’ve rounded up a mix of my favorite cool mom sneakers 2023. I tried to include a mix of styles and price points, but the cool thing about sneakers is that it’s the casual, sporty contrast that they add to dresses and skirts, and even wide-leg trousers and jeans that make them such a staple shoe. My personal favorites are my Vejas (yes, they’re still cool and always will be) but the Isabel Marant ones are a great pricier shoe that feels a little fancier. I also love my grey New Balance sneakers and Adidas Sambas and then I’m a huge fan of the On Cloud sneakers for workouts and runs. But Golden Goose are still trending if you want to splurge a bit more and Rothy’s makes a cool textured shoe as well. Bottom line: You really can’t go wrong with any of these.
