If I had to choose one designer to solely wear for the rest of my life, it would be The Row. The luxe, minimalistic brand designed by the Olsen twins is the epitome of effortless chic and for this low-maintenance girl it’s the exact kind of approach to dressing I like to take: minimal thought and time required to achieve total chicness. The back bone of the line is versatile neutrals in luxe fabrics and cuts that can be worn interchangeably, don’t require tons of styling (read: time I don’t have in the morning), and have the perfectly tailored but slightly oversized fit that I prefer because I will choose comfort and cozy (which often reads somewhat baggy) over fitted any day. While unfortunately I can’t afford to outfit myself solely in The Row at the moment, I am getting inspired by the chic styling of its pieces on Net-a-Porter as I put together my working mom wardrobe (I told you I’m completely cleaning out my closet right? Obviously a post-clean out closet makeover is what follows). So I thought I’d put together a post on how to get The Row look for less.
Many of the pieces at the core of The Row look — tailored wide leg pants, black leather skinnies, oversized cashmere sweaters in neutral hues, black loafers, perfectly worn high-waisted jeans — I can use as the foundation of my new mom wardrobe that will allow me to project boss lady at work while taking me very little time to get dressed in the morning, as I try to navigate getting ready and out the door with an adorable newborn in the house.
