Kids’ birthday parties are a thing again, and it feels like we’re being flooded with invites right now. Part of it is that James has more friends thanks to school and activities and part of it is that parents are going all out to make up for last year’s canceled birthdays and celebrations. I know this might be a controversial thing to say but I love kids’ birthday parties. Our kids are still at the age where we need to attend, but I’m fine with that. We’d be watching them anyways and probably trying to figure out something fun to do. When you have a kids’ birthday party, the entertainment and food are usually taken care of, and you can socialize with the other parents. It’s not too bad in my opinion. Plus, it’s cute for me to get to see James play with all his friends since we haven’t been able to go into his school or activities. But all these birthday parties also means I’ve been buying a lot of gifts for 5-year-old boys.
I’m trying to get ahead of the game and scoop up a bunch of gifts for 5-year-old boys now, so I don’t have to stress out the morning of a party, running around trying to find and wrap a present. I’ve been doing a lot of online researching and polling of my mom friends, and I’ve rounded up a pretty good (if I do say so myself) list of the best gifts for 5-year-old boys.
