I’ve shared my love for relatively new designer, Ganni before on the blog. This dress was on repeat all spring and summer, and now I’m trying to figure out how I’ll layer it up for fall/winter. The dresses are fun, flattering, and comfy and have special details and pretty prints that always earn me compliments. I’m so excited to share this plaid dress from Ganni because it’s such a fun an unexpected take on the traditional fall pattern. I love that the colors are fresh and deviate from traditional fall colors so they’ll work in the spring too but it still channels a fall vibe.
Obviously, I love the ruffles on this plaid dress — the plaid and color scheme keeps it from feeling too girly but it’s just feminine enough. Well ,and you know I can’t resist a ruffle. I also love how it’s a nontraditional, unexpected take on fall plaids that I can see myself wearing into the spring. I also am really into this length. It’s short without being too short so I can wear it to work without worrying about any exposure. It’s also roomy without being too roomy so it’s flattering and will be great over Thanksgiving and the holidays when life is really indulgent.
I’ve been wearing it with booties but it could also work with over the knee boots (like these ones that are currently on my worth-the-splurge list), sneakers or loafers to dress it down or tights and a fun pair of heels for a party. I would even top it with a sweater and let the color and sleeves pop out for a cute layered look.
