Anyone else’s kids hoard stuffies like it’s their job? My kids cannot get enough stuffed animals. They want one anytime we see one — at a store, gift shop, check out aisle, carnival, goodie bag — and they get so many as gifts (every holiday, birthday, time they see a family member). It’s insane how many stuffed animals we have accumulated over the years between the three kids and that we still continue to despite my best efforts at curbing the collection. I even get rid of the ones that are being neglected when the kids are asleep or out of the house, and somehow, we still manage to have more than ever. I’m on a cleaning and organizing mission, and I’m focused on our basement playroom, which happens to be home to an insane amount of stuffed animals. So today, I’m compiling my favorite stuffed animal storage ideas.
I know I”m not the only one who is looking for a great solution for all the stuffed animals the kids acquire and can’t possibly bear to part with. We do allow the kids a basket of stuffies in their rooms that they rotate through but then the overflow is mostly housed in the playroom (though quite a few have made their way to the family room and there are more I’m sure sprinkled in places I have yet to find). When researching cute stuffed animal storage ideas, I loved these bean bag chairs that you fill with stuffies and double as seating. I know my kids would love them and they’d make a cute gift. I’m thinking of getting these covers for them to tie into our decor better. Right now, we’re using these cute toy bags that we could get a few more of and work well, especially since the animals always get dumped out. This over the door stuffed animal storage container is a great idea, especially for smaller spaces and bedrooms. This hammock would work well too and would be fun for the kids. These market bins are a godsend for toy storage and would be great for stuffies. A good toy chest works well too and you can close the door on them lol.

Our four year old loves stuffed animals and somehow we keep getting more even though we have a moratorium on NO MORE STUFFIES in our house. When we upgraded her room to a big girl room late last year, we got her a nightstand that is open with two tiers (from World Market and I painted it to match her room decor) and told her it was bunk beds for her stuffed animals and that if her collection didn’t fit on the two bottom tiers that we would donate the guys that didn’t fit. Naturally she has squeezed them so that everyone fits on there, but has at least helped keep the stuffy clutter at bay because they have a spot in her room. And that spot happens to be sort of hidden because of how her room is laid out!
