Every summer, I compile a bucket list of things I want to accomplish with our young family and so I’m a bit late, but not too late (since school is still in session for my oldest here!), in sharing our summer 2025 bucket list. The list isn’t meant to be stressful or put too much on our plates but a way for me to make sure we’re making the most of these warm, carefree(ish) days. And honestly, I’m a list person. And I find that when we don’t have plans in place for activities and getting out of the house and how we’re going to spend our days, we end up all getting frustrated and trouble erupts — the kids start getting antsy and acting out, I start getting overstimulated and frustrated, and it just devolves from there. But I also don’t have the bandwidth or desire to plan out every inch of our summer so I like to have a list of activities we can do as a family on hand for when we need to figure out something to do. It’s also a way for me to map out our summer and plan it all out, making sure I’m prioritizing things we really want to do.
So you’ll see my summer 2025 bucket list is a mix of ideas for things we can do to keep busy, simple pleasures that make summer fun and memorable (like running through the sprinkler, getting ice cream) because sometimes I need a reminder that simple is also special. And then there’s some bucket list items of things I really want to do and need to map out more like a trip to London and August in Park City and strawberry picking. These are things I realized would never happen if we didn’t actually make a plan for them. I am really excited to kick off summer. It’s been rainy and cold here, but we’re seeing glimpses of summer and I can’t wait to officially kick off my favorite time of year!
