We just got back from five days in London and I’m still recovering tbh. The jet lag is real. But we had the best time. I went with James, Charlotte and Grace and spent the time showing them a city that is so special to me and seeing some friends and family. The weather was extremely hot the first three days and then cool and rainy the next two so I needed a variety of London outfits for summer that would work for different weather and touring the city all day with the kids and often going straight to meals. I’ve gotten a lot of requests for what to wear in London in summer and I totally get why. The weather is all over the place, from hot and sunny to rainy and cool. We experienced both during our trip, so I thought I’d share what I wore.
TBH I was so thrown by the forecast calling for a heatwave and knowing we’d be walking around and I’d be wearing Grace (who also makes quite a mess these days) that my London outfits for summer were almost all meant for hot weather and I wished I had brought a pair of pants or jeans and a rain coat and blazer. So you won’t see this but when answering what to wear in London in summer, I’d say to bring a couple sweaters, jeans and pants, and a rain coat as well as summery dresses and shorts. But we made do and honestly I was fine. If you’re planning a trip to London, I’d advise a rain coat and a mix of dresses and cardigans, shorts and sweaters or button ups, jeans and button ups and lady jackets – and a good rain coat.
