The weather is typical New York spring here — warm one day, freezing the next; cold in the morning, hot by the afternoon — making it impossible to dress. I feel like one day I’m in a pretty spring dress, enjoying the warm weather and sun, and the next day I’m in a sweater, cursing myself for not bringing a coat. Hence, why what I wore the last week of April 2022 is a total mishmash. My advice for dressing for this in-between, in-flux weather? Layers. Start the day in a dress, heavy cardigan or sweater thrown on top and closed-toe shoes and I always carry a coat because I hate being cold. Then shed the layers as the day goes on. If I’m wearing jeans, I’ll always put a t-shirt underneath a sweater and lighter spring jacket so I can shed the layers as the day warms up too.
This week was another crazy one as I continue to adjust to being a family of three and trying to get some work done between feedings and caring for the three kiddos. Let me tell you, it’s not easy and very little is getting done, which is frustrating. But I’m telling myself it’s just a month in and a short season and trying to enjoy the newborn cuddles and not put too much pressure on myself to get much else done. But I am committed to keeping this franchise going, so I’m doing my best to get dressed each day and document it. Luckily, thanks to the warmer weather and drop in Covid cases, the invitations to lunches, parties, and playdates are piling in, so I actually have more excuses to get dressed than I have in a long time. Here’s what I wore the last week of April 2022.
