This week I didn’t have much time to get dressed let alone take pictures of my outfits. Also, my dear Instagram husband has been going into the city almost every day for work and so I’m finding myself without a photographer most days. I need to get better at mirror selfies tbh, but I don’t have that great of a setup right now. It’s also crazy mode at our house, so it’s not exactly the best backdrop for photos. You would be too distracted by the hurricane of toys/children/god knows what else in the background to notice what I’m even wearing lol. Sigh. It’s just a stage. I keep telling my Type A self that every time I look around at all the messes all over the house. I’ve slowly been giving up on cleaning up some of it because it goes right back to a tornado zone five seconds later, but my mind/anxiety craves clean organized spaces so that one is a hard one for me. Anyway, I apologize that my roundup of what I wore the second week of May 2022 involves some half body car shots. I spent quite a bit of time this week in the car waiting to pick up children or for said children to wake up from their car naps. Side note: car naps are so hard. On the one hand, it keeps them quiet and from fighting or complaining. On the other hand, it totally ruins any regular naps they’re scheduled to take or messes with bedtime and instead of doing anything productive you had planned for their actual nap time, you’re stuck in a car wondering if you should wake them and knowing if you do, you’ll never get them back down in their own beds. I’ve resorted to letting them sleep since my kids do not do the transfer… unless I have to pee in which case, I face the wrath of a toddler or preschooler who has just woken from a deep sleep and has no idea where they are, is quite heavy to carry but refuses to walk and is sobbing while hitting because they hate you for waking them… and well, can you blame them?
Not sure how I got so off track, but I did get to wear some of my favorite spring dresses before the rain returned. I love a cute dress for summer and I’m finding shorter lengths are fun right now when it’s 75 degrees and will easily transfer to summer. I’m also breastfeeding and finding that as a result I’m always hot, which is completely foreign to me, since I’m usually always cold, so I’m enjoying the shorter hemlines. A nice roomy short dress also is a sneaky way trick for postpartum dressing if your stomach is still a little pregnant and probably will be thanks to three babies and a lack of willpower and energy to workout. Here’s what I wore the second week of May 2022.
