Well, here we are wrapping up the last week of school for my kiddos. I’m not sure why we don’t end earlier like most other states but in New York, it seems like the school year goes on forever. In fact, the “big school” in our small town doesn’t get out for two more weeks. Personally, I prefer when holidays help everything wrap up — let Memorial Day weekend mark the end of school and Labor Day weekend mark the beginning. But my kiddos’ preschool ended this week and James officially graduated from the school he’s attended the last three years, and of course, I had all the tears. He’s headed to kindergarten in the fall, and I can’t quite believe it. I remember how little he seemed when we first brought him into his 3s classroom, kicking and screaming and how I cried as I waited outside his classroom hoping he’d calm down (he did). And now, here we are a few years later and he’s bigger and stronger and his own little person and the big brother to two siblings and a five year old. Not only did I cry at his graduation but at Charlotte’s last day of her 2s program as well. She’ll be two for awhile longer, but I still shed all the tears. But we made it through until the end of the year, through pandemic waves and so many ups and downs, and it’s officially summer for the Kennedy family. I am dressing in full summer mode and since there seems to be an end of school year or beginning of summer event of sorts every day, I’ve got some cute summer outfits to share in my round up of what I wore the second week of June 2022.
I am leaning in hard to dresses. They’re the most flattering on me right now in my postpartum, breastfeeding glory. But they’re also my go-to in summer. You just throw one on and you’re ready to go and look so put-together. I find dresses easier than shorts and tops or jeans and so much cooler. Plus, it looks like you went that extra mile when in fact, you did the least — which is basically my approach to getting dressed from now until Labor Day. While we prep for a rainy weekend (boo) and try to scramble to make new plans that don’t involve the pool, here’s what I wore the second week of June 2022.
