I had convinced myself that August would be the month I would slow down and savor the moment and not worry about getting dressed or being anywhere. But I am starting to think you need to be on vacation or away somewhere to truly do that (hence, I’m already looking up beach house rentals for next year lol). We got back from a few days away at Lake Placid and hit the ground running with a crazy week of meetings and events and so much. The kids were off camp so I tried to squeeze everything in to short spurts and get some time with them at the pool and the beach, but I’m feeling more exhausted than ever after trying to balance it all. I have been in this phase of saying yes — yes to co-hosting an event in the Hamptons this weekend (message me if you want to come), yes to hitting up a pop up shop at a friend’s, yes to lunches and coffees. It’s actually energizing me in a way that I wasn’t expecting, but it’s also meant I’m working into the night and not getting as much slow time with the kids as I hoped, so I’m grateful we had some time away and some more coming up. And of course it meant getting dressed quite a bit as you’ll see from my roundup of what I wore the second week of August 2023. In between meetings and lunches and parties, I tried to keep it casual and easy for playing with the kiddos and taking them to the beach and the pool. And now, here we are with another jam-packed weekend.
Here’s what I wore the second week of August 2023.
