We are slowly but surely starting to get into a routine here. We had our first full week of school, and it feels like we’ve finally accepted that this is fall and our new routine hath begun. I am even starting to figure out my routine in it all and getting in a better work/kids/life balance. It’s not perfect and I’m still staying up way too late working but it feels a bit more manageable. The fall events keep rolling in and now activities are starting, so it’s definitely still a LOT and feeling like a constant juggle. I’m starting to realize that this is what life is when you have school-aged kids/kids in general. This week, I had a mix of things — parent coffees, meetings, hockey and swim lessons, a few NYFW events, ballet and more hockey, and did I mention we were having work done at the house? As you’ll see from my roundup of what I wore the second week of September 2023, it was really a mix of pieces all that could be layered depending how the weather changed throughout the day, and that fit busy days running around from meetings to school to events in the city.
I am trading my dresses in a bit for jeans as the weather cools and I have to throw on something in the morning that can take me from morning to chillier nights. I will admit that I’ve been wearing t-shirts under my blazers and sweaters because it’s getting really hot during the days sometimes. I do love this time of year and the weather is wonderful but it can be so hard to dress for. This weekend, we’re keeping it low-key — dinner with friends, soccer and hockey and a back to school event and lots of home projects as always. Before we kick off the weekend, here’s what I wore the second week of September 2023.
