What I Wore This Week (No. 174) – Closetful of Clothes

We are in the full swing of fall things here and despite a recent heat wave, I have (begrudgingly) kissed summer goodbye. I don’t mean to be a scrooge, but I guess I just want time to stand still for a little or something. I am not sure what it is. But with each season, my kids get bigger, time moves faster, and I sometimes feel like I can barely keep up. It’s all going by in a blur, and I am in no rush for anyone to grow up or another year to pass. But alas, that’s the human struggle, right? Or maybe I’m just feeling ultra sensitive to the passage of time as my kids go from babies to little kids (tear, tear) and I get older. It doesn’t help that our culture makes us feel like it’s all over after a certain age. Though there are plenty of women and men proving that wrong. I don’t know how I got so of course when I am here to share what I wore the third week of October 2023. But I feel like these posts have become musings with a side of outfits. Or maybe outfits with a side of musings, it’s hard to tell sometimes.

This week was a full one. Our current nanny is leaving at the end of the month (I’ll explain more on that later), so I’ve been trying to take full advantage by jamming in meetings and coffees and doctor appointments and all the things. I even got a couple trips to the city in this week. So as you’ll see from my round up of what I wore the third week of October 2023, I had a variety of things to dress for. But I’m thankful for the weekend. I’m exhausted tbh, and am looking forward to having an excuse to slow things down, but I also strategically like powering through all the meetings and things into a week or two and then not having to worry about it. For example, I scheduled all my doctor annual appointments for last week and just got it over with. It’s definitely a pain in the butt, but then it’s over and I can just move on and I can block my calendar and plan childcare etc. accordingly. Now it’s time to wrap up the week, have pizza and movie night and get ready for a busy weekend — a drive-in movie night, birthday parties, soccer, hockey, swimming and even a fair.
