Well friends, here we are at Labor Day weekend already. Can you believe it? I certainly cannot. We had an amazing summer in so many ways and I had so much time with the kids that was wonderful. I think they had a really great summer too. But if I’m being honest, it wasn’t quite what I had envisioned. I had these high hopes of spending the summer on a big adventure, whether that was a month in Europe or renting a house somewhere for the summer. But that’s not really how it shook out. We did get to do lots of mini adventures or trips. The kids had a variety of camps they really loved. They spent tons of time outdoors playing with our neighbors and their friends. We didn’t go to the beach as much as I hoped, but they’re at an age where perhaps the pool is easier (and more social, which is always nice when they have friends to play with). We ate way too many chicken fingers and fries, and now we’re facing the imminent return of routine. I am both welcoming it and not. Summer flew by and didn’t. I’m ready for them to go back to school and I’m not. Anyone else feeling this? We’re also in that weird season where I want to squeeze out all I can of my summer wardrobe but also feel like I should start dressing for fall, as you’ll see in my roundup of what I wore the fourth week fo August 2024.
It’s truly the toughest time of year to dress for. The weather is still warm. It’s technically still summer. But school is starting, Halloween candy and decorations are lining the shelves at CVS and everyone is talking about Pumpkin Spice Lattes and buying fall clothes. Isn’t it funny how early people start prepping and counting down to fall? I mean I love fall in a lot of ways, but I don’t know. Summer is so special. Why do we rush its finale? Anyway, we’re not going to solve that this morning, so here’s what I wore the fourth week fo August 2024. Hopefully, it helps give you some summer to fall outfit ideas.
