What I Wore This Week (No. 213) – Closetful of Clothes

Well, we are back in the swing of things… kind of. When you have little kids, it’s never just ripping the bandaid and jumping into a new schedule or routine. It’s always a slow ease in. I’m sure developmentally this is better for the kids, but it means that our September so far hasn’t really been back to work and routine. It’s been a lot of meet the teachers, orientations, one hour long school days, then half days, and so on. I know soon enough we’ll all be in the routine of it all, but I’m ready to feel settled and eager to get caught up on work and life before the baby arrives. But that’s been hard to make happen when everyone isn’t in school yet, we’re still figuring out the activities and what they need and the juggle, and so I’m eager to get all this stuff done and instead I’m just doing all the catch up. But we are slowly getting there and I’m feeling firmly in fall with summer becoming a distant memory. But not too distant because it was quite warm this week. Faux fall temps left and we had a heat wave, with high 80 temps, so it was a mismosh of outfits as you’ll see in my round up of what I wore the second week of September 2024.

While the week finished off hot and this weekend is supposed to feel like summer too, the beginning of the week was cool and fall-like, so it was really a mix of outfits. When the weather is like this, I try to wear sleeveless dresses in fall prints or neutral hues, so I don’t look too summery despite the heat. I’ll also do jeans and a tee or denim shorts with a sweater. Now it’s off to a jam-packed weekend. We have some house projects, hockey, tennis, football and soccer, a birthday party and fall festival. I do question when we’ll rest but I like having lots to do and to keep us busy and out of the house, so I’ll take it. Here’s what I wore the second week of September 2024.
