We just got back from a magical week in Martha’s Vineyard. We desperately needed a vacation after a crazy few months, year really. Since the start of the year, we’ve been on a nonstop rollercoaster — selling our home, wrapping up work before maternity leave, welcoming Brooks, finding a new home in the craziest housing market perhaps ever, figuring out where we would be sending the kids to school, returning to work, moving into my in-laws, now moving into a rental, figuring out childcare in new locations, and all while trying to adjust to life with three kids and keep things as normal and consistent as possible for the kids. It’s been a LOT to say the least, and there have been plenty of other things going on all the while. A week away with good friends was just what the doctor ordered. As I mentioned before, we learned that the key to vacationing with kids is to do it with friends. We went with some close friends who Andy has known since he was in preschool and their kids and it made traveling with kids so much more fun. I highly recommend. The setting in the Vineyard is magical and I enjoyed packing for this trip after living in suitcases for weeks, so I’m excited to share my outfits in case you’re searching for what to wear to Martha’s Vineyard in what to wear in martha’s vineyard in august
I live for easy, breezy classic styles, and Martha’s Vineyard is the perfect spot to lean into that classic, coastal summer style, which is what I did. I packed pretty lean because we had three kids and all that gear to carry along. Luckily, it was pretty warm the entire trip, so light dresses and swimsuits and shorts were all that was required, and I didn’t need to go heavy on the sweaters or jackets, but I will say it tends to get cooler at night in August, so I was definitely glad I included a few sweaters and cardigans. As you’’ll see in my roundup of what I wore for a week in Martha’s Vineyard, I made good use of my favorite summer pieces that I’ve been sharing on here and IG all summer long. I really do like to invest in core pieces I can wear over and over again, although I will say some were more breastfeeding friendly than others. I’m going to do a blog post with some of our favorite spots to eat and adventure in the Vineyard as I’ve been getting tons of questions about our trip and we had so much fun exploring, but first, here’s some inspo for what to wear in Martha’s Vineyard in August.
