It’s the end of a short week that also feels like the longest week ever if that makes sense to anyone. But we’re here. We made it. The sun is starting to set at 5pm now. Spring is coming. The worst of winter is over. I mean it’s still cold, we’ll still get snow, and it’s still dark way too early for me, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. I don’t know about you, but I feel like January is the hardest month of winter to get through. You’re coming off the holiday high. It’s cold and dreary. There’s not a ton to look forward to other than MLK weekend (which I always love but still….) and it’s just tough because you’re trying to get your life back on track and stop all the fun – budget, eat clean and not indulge, drink less, etc. etc. I’ve sort of given up on trying to make it super productive after the year just started off with a cluster of sickness and other things getting in the way of the best laid plans for being super efficient. I don’t think that if it doesn’t happen this week or month that it’s an excuse to give up, so I’m just trying my best and also being gentle on myself. It’s a time to hibernate and cuddle up, not be overly ambitious. That’s hygge right. I take that to my wardrobe too, as you’ll see in my round up fo what I wore the first week of January 2025.
This is the time of year when I love in athleisure and leggings and jeans and sweaters is usually the most I get dressed up for, and I’m okay with that. It’s cold and snowy and I only leave the house when forced and then hide under a large coat because it’s cold and I don’t feel like doing much more. So this week was pretty casual. Now it’s off to a weekend of kids activities and parties and all the things. I wish we could be spending the weekends in VT skiing, but alas, with hockey, we’re around, but it’s a good excuse to get stuff done. Here’s what I wore the third week of January 2025.
