After a week where I felt like a chicken with her head cut off, I hoped this week would feel calmer and I’d be able to get my feet back on the ground. But not what the universe had in the cars for me. Can anyone relate? Maybe it’s just the adjustment to fall after the slower days of summer, but it feels like we’re constantly running around and I’m just trying to stay afloat over an ever piling to-do list. To be honest, it’s not all bad even though I’m totally complaining. It feels good to be busy, but it’s left me with little time to plan outfits, get dressed and ready in the mornings, and to shop for the fall items I need to fill out my closet and make getting dressed easier. Hence, my outfits in this week’s roundup of what I wore the first week of October 2018 are mostly throw on and go.
But listen, I’m not complaining. That’s how I like to get dressed. I don’t like to spend a lot of time worrying about what I’m going to wear and trying on different outfits. I prefer to have my outfits planned out and to keep them unfussy and uncomplicated (hence, my love of dresses). I don’t spend a lot of time with fancy styling and accessories. I appreciate it so much when I see others do it and the editors I work with are all pros, but since becoming a mom, my time in the mornings is so limited and rushed, I just don’t have that much time or headspace to put into what I’m going to wear. So even though we’re heading into peak layering season, I’m keeping it as simple as I can with easy throw on and go outfits. Here’s what I wore the first week of October 2018.
