Vacation is officially over, and I for one, am mourning the end. Luckily, it was a short week, so we headed up to the country for part of the week to enjoy the first part of the New Year in the outdoors. So you’ll see I have a mix of final party looks and cozy winter outfits for my roundup of what I wore the first week of January 2019. I am missing the mountains and skiing. We had a great break in Park City and it’s always my favorite way to finish the year. It’s one of those trips we look forward to all year long, so it’s always a bummer when it’s over. Part of me is ready to get back to routine and get everyone, including myself, back on a schedule, but I’m also looking dreading Monday and the start of a long winter without another vacation in sight for awhile. Sorry to be a bummer. I always get a bit of the winter blues after Christmas and the holidays and our annual Christmas vacation. Anyone else feel that way or are you ready to hit the ground running on New Year’s resolutions?
I will stay that spending a few days at the lake is easing the transition and a nice little time to reset. We were indulgent on our trip and there were lots of parties and activities. It was so much fun, but it’s also nice to take a breather and relax just us in the middle of nowhere for a few days. We did venture over to a friend’s for a little new year celebration (hence, the cocktail dress in my roundup of what I wore the first week of January 2019). So it was a nice mix of hibernating just us and long chilly walks and movies and pancakes in our pjs and a little socialization to close out the winter break.
Here’s what I wore this (short) week aka what I wore the first week of January 2019.
