What I Wore the Second Week of February 2022

Here we are two weeks into February and inching closer to my due date. I can’t believe in six weeks (or less!), we will be welcoming another baby to our family. I am both excited and terrified. To be honest, the timing feels so crazy right now. We have so much going on and so much up in the air, and I had hoped to welcome this child into the world with less chaos than we have in the past. I like to have things planned out and put in place. But that’s not the person I married, nor the way life is seeming to go, so I’m trying to just roll with it and not freak out too much. I’m trying to focus on what I can control — getting as much as I can buttoned up for work before my leave, getting things here scheduled out, and getting dressed (when there’s time). As you’ll see from what what I wore the second week of February 2022, comfort and warmth are key for me right now. I simply hate being cold and at 8 months pregnant, I can’t wear anything too constricting or uncomfortable. I’m just not having it.

But I need to hold it together for another month and a half before I live in nursing clothes, so that I can get through all I have on the agenda these next several weeks. I know it’s always stressful before I take off for a maternity leave, but for some reason, this time feels particularly stressful and crazy. I think not being settled is a huge part of it and weighing on me a lot. But I have had so much going on for work, I haven’t had the luxury of staying in workout clothes all day and just cranking. I’ve really had to make a lot of appearances and be somewhat presentable. It’s good in some ways but it also means spending extra time in the mornings figuring out what to wear. I’m trying to keep it simple to save on time and stress — a dress that accommodates the bump and warm boots basically. Here’s what I wore the second week of February 2022.
