We are heading to Rome and the Amafli Coast to celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary. I am so excited to go and to have a vacation with just Andrew and I sans kids. It’s been a year since our last vacation without the kiddos, and that was the first time we left them for more than a night since James was born. We realized we really need that time alone to connect and enjoy each other and off from the 24/7 grind of parenting. It’s really hard to swing these types of trips when you have kids, especially multiple kids. For us, it requires a village to help watch the kids and get them to all the things they need to do, so when the stars allign and we can get that village lined up, we jump at the chance. This happened for us a little last-minute and while we had planned to wait until the summer to go to Italy, we decided to book our trip for April while we had all the childcare in place. It will be just the start of the season there, so less crowded but also a bit cooler so I have been debating what I should pack for Italy in April. It looks like we’re going to luck out with the weather, and it’s actually going to be hot in Rome, but it will be more like 60-70 degrees in the Amalfi Coast and our other stops.
I know some of you have trips to Italy coming up as well (lucky us!), so I promise to share a recap of recommendations for where to stay, eat, do. But first, I want to share my Italy packing list in case you’re also wondering what should I pack for Italy in April. I will say that everything on this list will really work in the summertime and fall as well. I always like to bring layers because the weather can be really variable regardless of when you go. Plus, as I mentioned, as luck would have it, we’re going to hit a heat wave and get some 80 degree temps in there. Here’s my Italy packing list.
