Invitations are already pouring in right now for fun summer parties, and while I’m excited to see people again and have things to do after a long winter of hibernating and a spring that saw half the events get rained out, I’m starting to feel the pressure to get dressed and by dressed, I mean, dressed. Every party and event feels like it needs its own special outfit. People are just pulling out all the stops in the dressing department now that it’s getting warm, and let’s be serious, summer parties are so much fun to dress for, but also it feels like the pressure is on (if that makes sense). I’m not mad about it. I love an excuse to dress up. But it means finding something to wear stresses me out a bit more than usual. I donated and sent a lot of clothes to the Real Real recently after a massive closet clean-out, so my summer wardrobe is a bit bleak, and frankly, I’m excited to shop and get some new things to wear for the warmer weather. We have a couple beach parties to attend to kick off summer, so I’m looking for some beach party outfits. I love dressing for the beach, but it’s also a bit tricky because you have the sand and water and wind to contend with. I figured I’m probably not the only one who is having trouble coming up with beach party outfits, so I thought I’d share a bunch of cute options.
Normally for evening dinners at the beach, white jeans and a tunic or a casual beach dress will do. But a beach party feels like a step up from a beach picnic or bonfire, especially if the party isn’t going to just be low-key grilling. We have one that includes a sit-down dinner, in the sand no less, so it’s feeling more akin to a rehearsal dinner. I’ll probably opt for a sundress and espadrilles or dressy flat sandals to fit the occasion. If you’ve got some ocean-side soirees on your calendar this summer, here are my favorite beach party outfits.
