Can we take a minute to extol the gloriousness of leggings? They’re as comfy as sweats but look less frumpy. They make it look like you go to the gym even if you don’t (ahem, guilty). They’re stretchy and forgiving and comfy, yet they can look put-together enough to wear to brunch, errand-running, or even dinner when styled the right way. They’re probably the single most worn item that got me through my third pregnancy, which happened to be during the wintertime. The right ones suck you in in the right places, smooth and make you feel great. I really don’t have a bad thing to say about them other than the fact that everyone has now caught onto this truth thanks to the pandemic and wears them everywhere. This is great because it gives you permission to also wear leggings as pants on the reg, but also means that you probably won’t be the only one in leggings wherever you go these days. Well, other than maybe the office although I hear a lot of people are dressing down at their offices now too. But if you’re not sure how to wear leggings as pants without looking schleppy, you’re not alone. It’s easy to look like you’re heading to the gym, which is fine for drop off, but may not be the look you’re going for if you’re heading to a lunch or appointment. Though honestly, does anyone even care these days?
But if you’re looking for some leggings outfit ideas, I’ve rounded up my favorite ideas for how to wear leggings as pants.
