I’m starting to tackle our living room. I was going to wait a bit longer, but the way lead times go, I’d like to have the option to entertain for the holidays. And really, I can’t sit on a project. I’m trying to play it cool and go slow but honestly, I have no chill. Part of my focus on the living room has also been the fact that I found a great Made Goods coffee table on Facebook Marketplace for a steal and then the most beautiful Bunny Williams couch at the NYC store’s sample sale, both too good of deals to pass up on items I had been lusting after and well, then it was off to the races. I also scored a secretary at an estate sale for $6 that I was going to maybe trash down the road but I’m now liking the vibe of with my other new purchases and some of the furniture we have in there at the moment that’s inherited. The only lighting in the room currently (besides natural light from all the windows) are two sconces above the fireplace that are so not our vibe. Honestly, they don’t really fit the room — they’ve got an industrial sort of vibe. I actually don’t even know how to describe it, but needless to say I’ve been researching the best wall sconces for living rooms.
I prefer a brass color for living room wall sconces. It fits my more classic meets antique with a modern edge vibe and I just find them a bit fancier and more versatile than silver or other metals. But the nice thing about the sconces I chose is that many of them have other finishes that you can choose from. I lean towards a really streamlined classic style. I think sconces should make a subtle statement and not be too fancy or ornate. Obviously though that’s my style, and I’ve seen some gorgeous fancier sconces that look amazing in different spaces. I shared on IG that I was shopping for the best wall sconces for living rooms and I received tons of requests to share so I thought I’d throw them together into a blog post.
Here’s my edit of the best wall sconces for living rooms.
