In summer, I basically wear white dresses on repeat. Don’t get me wrong, I love florals and stripes and colors, and have found them more forgiving of stains since becoming a mom for sure, but I always end up buying a million white dresses. I just love how crisp and clean and versatile they are. Plus, a white dress never goes out of style, so I know I’ll wear it year after year. I also layer them under sweaters and blazers as the weather gets cooler, allowing me to wear year round. I don’t like to buy a million of the same things — I like to be more strategic with my shopping (also says the woman who owns ten million striped shirts), but I do think having an arsenal of white dresses in your wardrobe is never a bad idea. They can be styled so many ways and unlike prints aren’t necessarily easily recognizable so you’re less likely to encounter someone saying “oh, is that the Zimmerman dress?” or wearing the same one. And if they are, it stands out less, ya know?
I have seen so many great white summer dresses that I’m rounding up my favorites for you today. I think there’s room for a few every season. A great cotton white dress that can be dressed up or down. I also love a white linen dress that’s perfect for a summer night at the club or Vineyard, Nantucket or Hamptons. I found when I was in a corporate role, I would rely on more streamlined white dresses for days at the office. Meanwhile, I love more breezy styles to wear as coverups that I can then take straight to a BBQ or lunch or running the kids around. There are so many great white summer dresses this season at every price point. Here’s a roundup of all my faves.
