Charlotte is somehow five years old (she turned fivce at the end of August), and I cannot believe it. We’ve had lots of birthday parties for her friends who have already turned five and all the rest of the kiddos turning five now, so I’ve been doing lost of shopping for gifts for 5 year old girls. I have to say shopping for five year old girls is pretty fun. There are so many cute, sparkly options. And I just love shopping for my kids’ birthdays. Birthdays are so special and I want them to feel extra special on those days, so I always try to be really thoughtful with how we celebrate and what we get them. I usually aim for one big present and then some smaller presents I know they’ll love opening and maybe one or two things they need.
When it comes to gifts for my kids’ friends or family, I try to buy something that won’t end up collecting junk or piss their parents off. I often will buy in bulk when I see items on sale on Amazon, and it’s almost always something my kids have really loved or wanted that will keep the kids occupied or make them smile. For girls, it could be a headband or dress-up costume or karaoke microphone, or it might be an arts and crafts kind of kit or dress up shoes or jewelry. Charlotte is really into dolls right now too, so I’ve started her down the American Girl track, which has been fun for me, as I loved my AG dolls growing up. If you’re shopping for a little (big) lady right now, here is a list of my favorite gifts for 5 year old girls.
